By creating an account or using SL LEARNER SUPPORT AI ("the Platform"), you agree to the following Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Platform.

1. Purpose of the Platform

The Platform is provided solely for educational purposes to support the English language learning of Sabancı University School of Languages students. It is not a commercial service and must not be used for any purpose other than language practice and instruction.

SL Learner Support AI is not an assessment tool, nor does it present content limited to assessed topics; it is a supplementary learning resource designed solely to support students in improving their English.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

Only members of Sabancı University with a valid @sabanciuniv.edu email address may register.
You must register with your real first name and last name, exactly as they appear in your university email address. Accounts registered with false, misleading or another person's identity may be suspended.
You must verify your email address by clicking the link sent to you. Unverified accounts are automatically deleted 15 to 30 minutes after registration.
Each person may hold only one account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.

3. Term-Based Accounts

 Every year on 1 September the whole database is automatically and permanently wiped (all accounts and all activity data) and the Platform starts the new academic year from scratch.

 All user accounts and the activity data linked to them are permanently deleted at the start of each academic term. If you wish to continue using the Platform in a new term, you must register again. Please save any feedback you wish to keep before the term ends.

4. Listening Recordings

Dialogue audio generated for listening activities is stored so that you can replay it. Scores and written feedback remain available until the end of the term.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Platform for any purpose other than your own language learning or, for instructors, supporting students' learning.
Attempt to access other users' accounts or data, or to bypass, disrupt or overload the Platform's systems.
Share, sell or transfer your account to another person, or register on behalf of another person.
Using external/additional tools on the website for any purpose without admin approval.
Sharing, redistributing, or commercially exploiting the tasks, feedback, or audio produced by the Platform, or using them for purposes other than your own personal use.

6. Suspension of Accounts

Platform administrators may suspend any account that violates these Terms of Use, without prior notice. Suspended users cannot log in or access any activity pages. If you believe your account was suspended by mistake, please contact us at the addresses below.

7. AI-Generated Content

Tasks, transcripts, audio and feedback on the Platform are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies. AI feedback is intended to support, not replace, the assessment of your instructors, and does not constitute an official grade of Sabancı University.

Tasks (listening dialogues, reading texts, writing passages and speaking tasks) and the hints that go with them are shared and reused across users: a task generated for one student may later be given to another student at the same level, and hints are generated once and reused. Hints that have already been opened are saved and shown again without a new request; newly opened hints are saved for later use. In speaking, a task may be repeated once 5 different tasks have been completed for the same unit and input.

Scores and percentages are shown only to instructors; students see a performance band (Needs Work, Developing, Satisfactory, Good or Excellent). Scores on the Platform are practice indicators and are not official exam results.

8. Availability and Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and are not liable for any loss of data, missed deadlines or other damages resulting from the use or unavailability of the Platform. The Platform may be modified or discontinued at any time.

9. Privacy

The way we collect and use your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Use. In short: only Sabancı University emails are accepted, all records are kept until the Platform is reset and all accounts are deleted at the start of each term.

10. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Updated terms become effective as soon as they are published on this page.
